MISCELLANEOUS TECHNICAL NOTES |
a) On older versions of some Caviar drives
J8/jumper 1 must be closed to make it slave to a Conner Peripherals CP3022 or
CP342.
On newer versions leave J8/jumper 1 open.
b) Caviar drives are shipped with a spare shunt jumpered across
J8/jumpers 2 & 3. |

Note: cable select option allows “master/slave”
configuration to be determined by the cabling of the host system. If pin 28 on
the interface is tied to the ground, drive is considered a master, if pin 28 is
not grounded, drive is considered a slave. Both of the drives must have a cable
select option and pin 28 must not be used for any other signal in order for
this option to function. This feature is useful when drive is used in a
removable subsystem. |
