DRIVE CONFIGURATION
Selection M S
Single drive only open open
Master drive in a two drive system closed open
Slave drive in a two drive system open closed
     Cable select option closed closed
Note: cable select option allows “master/slave” configuration to be determined by the cabling of the host system. If pin 28 on the interface is tied to the ground, drive is considered a master, if pin 28 is not grounded, drive is considered a slave. Both of the drives must have a cable select option and pin 28 must not be used for any other signal in order for this option to function. This feature is useful when drive is used in a removable subsystem.

MISCELLANEOUS TECHNICAL NOTES
Model WDAL2540 uses EIDE 44-pin interface.
